Project cargoes

Our fleet offers a wide range of options based on the size of your cargo. Our new Electramar-class vessels, featuring a bridge-forward design, enable significantly higher deck loads compared to other vessels.

In-house expertise for demanding cargoes

Our modern fleet is designed to accommodate a wide array of project shipments, including windmill components, prefabricated house modules, and advanced Azipod propulsion systems.

The majority of our coaster vessels feature unobstructed cargo holds ranging from 50 to 65 meters, providing optimal space and flexibility for securely transporting long and heavy units. Additionally, our vessels are fully equipped to carry cargo both in holds and on deck, enabling us to transport oversized project cargoes or standard containers with maximum efficiency. This versatility ensures reliable and cost-effective solutions tailored to meet the unique demands of each project.

With the support of our dedicated supercargo personnel, who are always available to collaborate closely with crews, we ensure the highest standards in stowage planning. This expertise guarantees that every project cargo, no matter how specialised or challenging, is managed with precision and safety.

windmill components

Case: Oversized windmill blades

Our Electramar-class plug-in hybrid vessels are designed for the reliable transport of oversized cargo. Stellamar recently delivered twelve windmill blades, each over 80 meters long, from Germany to Finland, safely stowing additional components in the vessel’s hold.

Case: Windmill tower sections

Ecomar successfully transported four consignments of windmill tower sections from Germany to Köpmanholmen, Sweden. The winter conditions necessitated the use of an ice-class vessel, and the cargo was efficiently stowed to an unobstructed hold and extensive deck space.

Case: Windmill tower sections from Turkey to Finland

Kallio transported several shipments of windmill tower sections from Turkey to Finland.

Case: Windmill blade transport with pusher barge combination

Thanks to the 110-metre long open hold, our 13,500 dwt pusher barges are perfect for transporting large pieces such as long windmill blades. In addition, our barges are equipped with a side ramp which enables easy access to the hold.

Case: Windmill blades to Gdynia, Poland

The plug-in hybrid vessel Maximar successfully transported windmill blades from Eemshaven, Germany to Gdynia, Poland. The video highlights how the bridge-forward design simplifies the planning and stacking of these blades.

Industrial components

Case: Pipe bridge elements

Thanks to the 110-metre long open hold, our 13,500 dwt pusher barges are perfect for transporting large pieces such as long windmill blades. In addition, our barges are equipped with a side ramp which enables easy access to the hold.

Case: Scrubber system

Stellamar delivered a complete scrubber system, including exhaust funnels and essential components, from Pietarsaari, Finland, to a power plant in Norrköping, Sweden.

Case: 141-ton drum pulpers

Optimar-series vessel loaded two large, 141-ton drum pulper units in Kemi, Finland bound for Continental Europe. Thanks to her 13,18-metre wide hold, it was possible to load two of these massive units side by side.

The dimensions of the drum pulpers were 32,24 m x 5,0 m x 5,13 m.

Case: House modules

We have experience from transporting house modules. In one project, our 98-meter vessel Rocamar was loaded 119 modules built by Lindbäcks Bygg, whose factory is located just outside the harbour.
