ESL Shipping strengthens Chartering and Operations & Crewing departments

ESL Shipping Ltd, part of ASPO Plc, is building two large LNG-powered bulk carriers at state owned SINOTRANS & CSC Shipbuilding Jinling-shipyard in Nanjing, China. These new Ice Class 1A vessels designed in cooperation with Finnish Deltamarin and ESL Shipping are the first large bulk carriers powered by liquefied natural gas and represent the latest in design and innovation. CO2-emissions per cargo ton carried shall decrease by more than 50 % in comparison to present vessel generation. Newbuildings will enter into traffic during first half of 2018.

According to its strategy, ESL Shipping will continue to expand its customer base, in particular, to customer transportation where both the company's range of different cargos and its operating area can be expanded. Therefore ESL Shipping is strengthening resources in Chartering & Operations and announces recruitment of two experienced professionals since beginning of April:

Mr. Tuomas Wikström

Tuomas has more than thirteen years of experience in shipping. Starting his career Tuomas worked first two years in agency and there after last eleven years in chartering business, concentrating mainly on agricultural bulk sector and recycled materials. Tuomas has strong knowledge of the Baltic trade and wide network of contacts in this area.

Mr. Juuso Alanen

Juuso has worked in the field of logistics for the last ten years. Starting his career in freight forwarding and ship agency, for the last six years he has worked in vessel operations and chartering for a shipping company, both in projects and dry-bulk departments. Juuso brings with him excellent operational knowledge of shipping, also through his studies in the field.

Ms. Thea Merjovirta

Thea has good insight to shipping, she started her career on passenger ferries from where she moved to pilot coordination center.  In addition to this, she has worked number of years as port agent in Helsinki. Theas experience from international shipping enables crewing department to answer to the needs of expanding fleet.
