ESL Shipping has taken delivery of Luxomar, the twelfth and final vessel in its series of 5,400 dwt plug-in hybrid Green Coasters. The vessel was handed over on September 8 and will soon commence its maiden voyage from India to Europe. The delivery of Luxomar marks the successful completion of one of the most significant fleet renewal and growth investments in ESL Shipping’s history.
Built at Chowgule and Company, the Green Coasters combine battery hybrid technology, shore power connectivity and optimised vessel design to improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions and enable silent and emission-free port calls. The vessels have ice class 1A, enabling year-round operations in the Northern Baltic Sea.

The completion of the Green Coaster series is also an important strategic milestone for ESL Shipping. Together with the company's ongoing Green Handy investment programme, the new vessels strengthen ESL Shipping's ability to provide low-emission marine logistics services in Northern Europe. The investments are expected to improve operational efficiency, reduce emissions and support long-term growth in the company's core markets.
